AI-Writing Patterns to Remove (EN)

Mechanical bans the review/humanize skills enforce. Ported from naluma-content-automation src/agents/ai_patterns.py (EN) + Naluma-voice additions. Companion: ai-patterns-de.md. Voice: voice.md.

Scope: these patterns apply to produced content — insight cards, session scripts, coach conversations, sound copy (user-facing writing). They are not enforced on internal authoring docs, specs, or plans.

Banned vocabulary (→ replacement)

Allowed vocabulary (explicitly NOT banned)

These words are explicitly allowed and should not be avoided:

Medical hype (always banned)

Never use these terms in medical or health content — they are always inappropriate:

  • cure
  • exciting
  • game-changer
  • groundbreaking
  • landmark

Banned constructions

Avoid these syntactic patterns:

  • boasts
  • Due to the fact that
  • In order to

Banned paragraph openers

Do not start paragraphs with:

  • Additionally
  • Furthermore
  • However
  • It's worth noting
  • Moreover
  • That said
  • With that in mind

Punctuation

  • No em dashes (—). Replace every em dash with a period, comma, colon, or parentheses.

Naluma-voice additions (this repo)

  • Wellness clichés: "find your peace", "inner calm", "manage your tinnitus", "wellness journey".
  • Meditation-app-voice tells (breathy/ASMR phrasing, "simply allow yourself to…").
  • Institutional "we" / hedging: "we believe", "results may vary".
  • Toxic positivity: "you've got this", "stay strong", "stay positive".
  • Quick-fix / cure framing (also covered under Medical hype): "eliminate", "make it stop".
  • Streak / guilt / urgency framing: "don't break your streak", "you missed…".
